DNA testing is primarily used for identity verification, forensics investigations, paternity testing and ancestry tracing.
The Genetic Information Nondiscrimanation Act (GINA) prevents employers from using DNA information in hiring, firing or job assignments.
DNA testing is extremely accurate- usually 99.9% or higher- when done in accredited labs for relationships or identity testing.
The U.S Department of transportation requires drug and alcohol testing for employees in safety-sensitive positions, such as truck drivers, pilots and train operators.
All Dot drug tests must be processed by SAMHSA-certified laboratories (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) to ensure accuracy and legal compliance.
